UVARC Christmas Party, 12/17/2009

The Christmas party was in the basement of the church across the street from the DC Courthouse. It was a pot-luck affair. Party pictures are through the courtesy of Jim, WA6KHG.

The Ham-of-the-Year award was presented to the winner for 2009. The award went to George Roth, KE7MVX. George, General Class Ham, was just certified by the ARRL as a Volunteer Examiner. He is a volunteer for the American Red Cross. George set up voice, digital, and HF communications at the Red Cross, is an ARES member, and in the last statewide SET, handled all of the portable Packet communications. George has made the Red Cross Building, projector, and dsl line available for amateur radio classes. He exhibits an excellent example to the public of amateur radio, and is always anxious to be part of any activity.
